On 1 July 2026, in Buthidaung township (Maungdaw district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike targeting the former Operation Command Headquarters No. 15 (Sakka-kha 15), using two jet fighters and one Y-12 transport aircraft and dropped at least 30 bombs on the headquarters and surrounding areas. The airstrike severely injured 3 Rohingya Muslim people including a 13-year-old Muslim boy from the nearby War Chee Lar (Muslim) village. The airstrike also damaged more than 10 houses.
