On 3 July 2026, a car carrying the head of the Rylskiy district and head of the Rylskiy economic maintenance department hit an explosive device in the centre of Rylsk (Rylskiy, Kursk), which detonated remotely and injured both. 2 more local government workers standing at a nearby building and 2 others were also injured. A total of 6 people were injured. The attack also damaged 4 houses, 1 store and 2 vehicles. No fatalities.
