On 1 July 2026, the Ukrainian military launched a drone attack on Penza (Penza, Penza), hitting 1 power line, 1 building under construction, 1 substation located near the Mayak plant (sources differ on characterizing it as paper plant or defense facility), and the Scientific Research Institute of Physical Measurements, specializing in measurement systems and producing components for Su-34 and Su-57 aircraft, Kh-101 and Kh-59M2/Kh-59M2A cruise missiles, and strategic-purpose missile systems. 2 people were injured. No fatalities.
