On 29 June 2026, the Nigerian Air component of Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma launched air strikes against a Niger militia (described as suspected terrorists) in the Dogon Dawa axis of Shiroro LGA, coded to the closest district, Kushaka (Shiroro, Niger). The strikes targeted about 200 militants on motorcycles, killing several and injuring others who fled toward the Kurugin Maidawa axis. Several fatalities coded as 10.
