On 27 June 2026, in Maungdaw town (Maungdaw township, Maungdaw district, Rakhine state), a 50-year-old man stepped on a landmine planted by an unknown armed group near the valley behind the Sin Hnit Kaung monastery in Ward No. 4 while picking beans around 10:00 am. The landmine exploded, causing his right leg to be injured.
