On 21 June 2026, a landmine of unknown origin exploded and seriously injured one woman on both legs in the mountainous area of Mghila (Jilma, Sidi Bouzid). She was transferred to the regional hospital to receive emergency treatment and undergo surgery. The Mount Mghila area is directly adjacent to Mount Chaambi, where armed groups, including some affiliated with Al Qaeda and the Islamic State, remained active after 2011.
