On August 5, a Liberation Tiger of Tribal (LTT) ‘commander-in-chief’, Khaikhohaoalias Haopu Khongsai and two others were reportedly shot dead unknown armed men at their hideout in Maojang village's paddy field in Saikul subdivision in Kangpokpi Districtof Manipur, reports Imphal Free Press. According to sources, among the two other militants, one of them has been identified as Naolun Khongsai, son of the slain LTT chief. Further investigation is going on.
