A municipal police officer in Apatzingán, Michoacán, was killed by armed assailants Sunday morning after finishing his shift. The officer, identified as Rodolfo R. R., died in a local hospital from the severity of his injuries. The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. on Emiliano Zapata Street, near the Ahuate Market in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood. According to police reports, the officer was driving a gray Nissan X-Trail when he was intercepted by a group of armed men. The attackers repeatedly opened fire on the officer's vehicle and fled in an unknown direction.
