In the Podilskyi district of the Odessa region, a 52-year-old man who was in the status of an unauthorized deserter from the unit detonated a grenade during a document check - two police officers and the man himself were injured.

Details : According to preliminary data from law enforcement officers, on July 5, the crew of the patrol police response group stopped a moped rider for violating the Traffic Rules.

During a document check, the police found out that the 52-year-old man was in the status of a foreign national.

According to police, the man then took out a grenade and began threatening to detonate it – then an explosion occurred.

Two police officers and the man himself were injured in the explosion.

An investigative and operational team is working at the scene.
