SAA event in Burkina Faso on Tue 30th June 2026

Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 | On June 30, fierce fighting broke out between JNIM terrorists and the BIR 20 in Gayéri. The same day, the group also attacked Sebba and Solhan, while Burkinabe armed forces conducted an operation near Toungaré.

🔶 Early in the morning, JNIM seized two military barracks in Sebba and Solhan, two villages about 20 kilometers apart in Yagha province.

🔸 The attacks caused significant material damage and resulted in several casualties among Burkinabe soldiers.

🔷 Further south, on the same day, the terrorists attacked the town of Gayéri, in Komondjari province, where the BIR 20 is stationed and repelled the assault. A large number of motorcycles (video in comments 📽️) and ammunition (photo on our map 📸) were seized.

🔹 According to some sources, the figures vary, and there is no official count. Losses appear to be significant on both sides. Some sources mention up to 200 JNIM fighters killed, without providing a figure for Burkinabe soldiers.

ℹ️ For their part, the Burkinabe armed forces announced that they had destroyed a terrorist base near Toungaré in the Boucle du Mouhoun region. Vehicles and weapons were reportedly seized.
