Three Myanmar nationals were killed on the spot after a shooting broke out when Thai village security members went to warn a group of Myanmar citizens who were drinking and playing loud music at night, according to Thai media reports.
The incident occurred yesterday, June 27, at around 11:30 PM in a field near Nong Nam Dam village, Koh Khanun sub-district, Phanom Sarakham district, Chachoengsao province, Thailand.
A group of around 20 Myanmar nationals were drinking together and playing music loudly, creating a disturbance. When two Thai village security members went to warn them, a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation.
During the clash, a 24-year-old Thai village security member opened fire with his firearm, striking three Myanmar nationals who subsequently died at the scene from gunshot wounds.
Additionally, the other Thai village security member was hit on the head with a bottle and sustained knife wounds during the altercation. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.
