Missile event in Kyiv area, Ukraine on Wed 1st July 2026

On the night of July 2, the Russian Federation carried out another massive combined strike on the capital, using ballistic missiles and strike drones. The Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi, Pecherskyi, Podilskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi, and Obolonskyi districts were under attack. 

As a result of the shelling, apartment and private residential buildings, non-residential structures, a ShMD substation, a business center, the market area, and parked cars were damaged and partially destroyed.

As of 08:00, there are 9 dead and 34 injured, including two young children and a SES employee. Information on the number of injured is being clarified.

Investigative teams, explosives technicians, rescuers, doctors and psychologists are working at the sites of the hits and falling debris. Law enforcement officers are documenting the consequences of another war crime committed by the Russian Federation against civilians.
