Members of the National Guard arrested three hitmen in the municipality of Mocorito, Sinaloa, during a surveillance and prevention operation that led to the seizure of a cache of high-powered weapons, an improvised explosive device, and a shipment of narcotics.

According to a report from the Mexican Government’s Security Cabinet, federal agents intercepted a green Toyota Tacoma pickup truck after detecting evasive behavior by its occupants. Upon conducting a physical inspection of the vehicle, law enforcement officers located and seized the following military equipment:

Two AK-47 assault rifles
One AR-15 rifle
Magazines of various models, including disc-type devices
Thousands of live rounds in .223 and 7.62×39-millimeter calibers
An improvised explosive device, which was neutralized in accordance with safety protocols

In the same compartment of the vehicle, National Guard personnel seized a total of 7,237 doses of various drugs packaged for sale, broken down as follows:

5,065 doses of methamphetamine
1,362 doses of cocaine
800 doses of marijuana, in addition to 10 tubes containing the same narcotic

The operation concluded without any confrontations or resistance from the suspects. Federal authorities did not specify the exact location of the arrest nor determine whether the crew members had outstanding arrest warrants.
