A cadre of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) was killed in an exchange of fire between the Maoists and Police at Cherla Mandal (administrative sub-division) forest area in Bhadradri Kothagudem District of Telangana on August 1 (today), reports UNI. On information, that the Maoists were moving in the area in connection with Maoists ‘martyrs memorial week’, special Police teams were sent to the area and during the combing operation, the exchange of fire took place and the Maoist was killed. Police recovered the body of the slain Maoist, along with a .303 rifle and kit bags from the spot of the encounter. The identity of the Maoist is yet to be ascertained.
