Two suspected cadres of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), were arrested from a forest under Gidra Police outpost limits in Simdega District of Jharkhand on July 28, reports Hindustan Times. The two arrestees are members of ‘Sahu Dasta’ of the PLFI, which is active in neighbouring West Singhbhum District of the State, and Jashpur District in Chhattisgarh, a statement from the office of Simdega, Superintendent of Police (SP) said. The statement said, “The action was taken on a tip-off that PLFI members were in the area for recruitment of cadre and other related activities in Raikera-Patratoli. A team led by in-charge of Gidra outpost raided the village. The accused try to flee but were captured. Arms, ammunition, a motorbike besides other objectionable items were recovered from the duo.”
