On 26 June 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'North' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment, including a territorial defense brigade (coded to Kozacha Lopan) near Tovstodubove, Sumy. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: a US-made M113 armored personnel carrier, a Novator armored fighting vehicle, 14 vehicles, a field artillery gun, two electronic warfare stations, an Israeli-made RADA counter-battery station and up to 205 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Khotin, Bachivsk, Tovstodubove, Bilyi Kolodiaz, Prykolotne, Sosnovyi Bir and Kozacha Lopan [Russian MoD reported 205 fatalities.
