On 26 June 2026, the Nigerian Air Force launched air strikes on a Zamfara militia location near the Gidan Jaya community, also spelled Gidan Jaja (Zurmi, Zamfara). Several militia members were killed in the strikes. 2 civilians, a woman and her son, were also killed, and another was injured when the bomb landed on their home in the community. Several militia fatalities coded as 10. 12 fatalities coded [10 militia + 2 civilians].
