On 22 June 2026, in the morning, JNIM claimed to have targeted a Malian army convoy with an IED on the Bema-Diema road, coded to Takoutala (Bema, Diema, Kayes), a midpoint between the two locations. JNIM released photographs of the scene, showing the remains of the vehicle and magazine left behind by the soldiers. Casualties unknown.
