On 21 June 2026, a goods truck traveling from Mauritania to Mali, hit an IED planted by an armed (likely JNIM, based on location) approximately five kilometers from Youwarou (Youwarou, Youwarou, Mopti), resulting in the killing of 2 people, including the driver and one passenger. The driver assistant was seriously injured and was taken to a health center for treatment.
