The General Staff of the Armed Forces informs the nation that, on the night of Thursday, June 25, 2026, the Malian Air Force conducted an offensive reconnaissance mission in the Timbuktu region.

The aircraft involved located, approximately 65 kilometers northeast of Bambara Maoundé, a group of terrorist elements positioned at a military location, as well as a vehicle parked nearby. After confirming the targets, precision airstrikes were carried out.

Initial assessments indicate the neutralization of several terrorist elements and the destruction of the identified vehicle. The final assessment is ongoing.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces commends the vigilance and determination of the Malian Armed Forces, committed to the defense of the national territory and the protection of the population.
