On 19 July 2021, near Nan Hpe village of Bawlake township (Bawlake district, Kayah state), the military forces based in Nan Hpe and in Bawlake fired with rockets at the surroundings of Kali Lia village. Locals were forced to flee due to the shelling. Casualties unknown.
