SAA event in Mexico on Fri 26th June 2026

A direct attack carried out by a group of armed thugs on the night of Friday, June 26, in the Zaragoza neighborhood of Mexicali, resulted in the execution of State Citizen Security Force (FESC) officer Rubén López Orduño, 27, and his wife, Analleli Anaya Ávalos, 26. The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Eucalipto and F streets, right outside the officer's home. The attackers ambushed the victims as they stood outside the house and opened fire on them using assault rifles and .223 caliber ammunition. After the shooting, the assailants fled the scene in two vehicles, one white and one black, leaving the bodies on the dirt road. Security forces deployed a search operation in the area, locating and securing both abandoned vehicles at different points within the same community. Forensic personnel immediately began processing the vehicles to collect and extract clues and ballistic evidence. Agent Rubén López Orduño was a newly recruited member of the FESC (Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Citizen Security) and was operationally assigned to the corporation's intelligence division. This police unit recently participated in the confrontation in which a member of the Los Rusos criminal cell, known by the alias "El Compa Wicho," was killed.
