A BOMB squad was called after a highly explosive anti-tank rocket was found at a house in Perth.

The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to a home in Wilson Street on Friday after a rocket was discovered.

Ordnance disposal experts said they were able to safely remove an inert Rocket 3.5in HE M28 from the scene for disposal.

Known as the 3.5-inch High-Explosive Anti-Tank Rocket, the explosive, also referred to as the "Super Bazooka," was used during the Korean War, according to the Directory of US Military Rockets and Missiles.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence confirmed that an EOD team responded to a request from Police Scotland to attend the scene following the discovery.

The spokesperson added: "The EOD Operator safely removed an inert Rocket 3.5in HE M28 from the scene for future destruction, no demolition occurred."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "On Friday, June 26, 2026, we received a report of possible ordnance found within a property on Wilson Street, Perth.

"EOD attended to check the item and removed it for disposal."
