Reliable sources informed Hespress that a young man was killed on Sunday after being hit by a stray bullet from his friend's rifle, after they had gone on a quail hunting trip in Arbaa Aounat, near Sidi Bennour, in the Doukkala region of Casablanca-Settat.

The same sources explained that the deceased shot a quail in one of the fields in the Marhal Al-Faydh district and the leadership of Al-Aounat, and went to retrieve the bird, before his friend shot a second bird near his friend’s location and accidentally hit him in the back, which hastened his death, which formed the subject of a preliminary judicial investigation by the gendarmerie of the Al-Aounat center, the Sidi Bennour regional company of El Jadida.

Sources from Hespress added that the incident mobilized the Royal Gendarmerie elements at the Al-Aounat territorial center, and the representative of the local authority. The commander of the Sidi Bennour company, the head of the Al-Aounat territorial center supported by his elements, and a team from the Judicial Identification Center went to the scene of the incident, where the legality of the two firearms was confirmed, as well as the legality of the quail hunting trip, which will end in the last week of next February, according to the program of opening and closing periods of hunting, types of birds and hunting days for the 2024-2025 season, in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests No. 408, of which Hespress has a copy.

The Public Prosecutor's Office in the new Appeals District ordered that the body of the deceased be taken to the morgue at Mohammed V Hospital in the same city, in order to subject it to an autopsy for the benefit of the routine preliminary investigation opened with the suspect, who was placed under police custody to determine his relationship to the incident, pending his presentation to the Public Prosecutor to make the appropriate decision regarding him.

It should be noted that the death of the thirty-year-old “N. A.”, in his thirties, left great pain among his acquaintances and friends due to his good character. He comes from the Ain Bilal area, the leadership of Awlad Friha Ain Bilal, the district of Al-Buruj, Beni Meskine Al-Gharbia - Settat region.
