UAV event in Sumy area, Ukraine on Fri 26th June 2026
26th June 2026
Russian forces attacked gas stations in Sumy, leaving three people injured.
This was announced on Telegram by Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.
He said that all injured individuals are receiving medical care.
Hryhorov noted that in June the enemy significantly intensified strikes specifically targeting those facilities.
"This is a deliberate tactic by the Russians – to strike fuel infrastructure. Our Defense Forces are working: some enemy drones are being shot down. However, the intensity of attacks is very high, and unfortunately, not all strikes can be prevented," he wrote.
The head of the regional administration said that a meeting was held with representatives of gas station networks, law enforcement, emergency services, and relevant agencies. They discussed additional security measures at such facilities, as well as procedures for staff during air raid alerts and drone attack threats.
According to Hryhorov, protective measures for fuel infrastructure sites will be further strengthened.
As previously reported, Russian forces also attacked a gas station in the Chernihiv region on June 25, injuring one person.
