SAA event in Punjab, Khalchian, Amritsar District area, India on Tue 23rd June 2026

On June 23, Police arrested two operatives of the Europe-based gangster Aman Got, including one injured in an encounter, near the Timmowal Canal Distributary in the Khalchian area of Amritsar District of Punjab, reports The Tribune. One accused, identified as Heera, sustained a bullet injury in his leg during the exchange of fire and was hospitalised, while the second accused, Lovejit, was arrested. Acting on specific intelligence, the police laid a naka to intercept the duo, who opened fire while attempting to escape. Police recovered two foreign-made pistols, including a 9 mm Glock and a Zigana pistol, along with ammunition. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kanwalpreet Singh stated that Aman Got, a native of Gurdaspur District, operates an extortion network from abroad and has around eight criminal cases registered against him. Further investigations are underway.
