On June 22, firing was reported at the Industrial establishment of a Pune-based businessman after receiving an extortion call from a person claiming to be a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the Pune District of Maharashtra, reports The Tribune. Complainant Amol Rajendra Chamadai, who runs a steel products business, stated that he received a threatening phone call at around 4.30 pm on June 22 from an individual identifying himself as Arzu Bishnoi and demanding money. While Chamadai was at Fursungi Police Station in connection with the complaint, unidentified persons fired four rounds at his factory in the Fursungi area at around 8.10 pm. No injuries were reported in the incident. Police said the complainant initially approached Wanwadi Police before the matter was transferred to the Fursungi jurisdiction. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against unidentified persons, and investigations are underway to ascertain the identity of the attackers and whether both incidents are linked.
