On June 20, a rusted mortar shell was unearthed in a forward village near the International Border (IB) on the outskirts of Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Greater Kashmir. According to officials, farmer Girdhari Lal unearthed the mortar shell while ploughing his agricultural field with a tractor in Chanana village along the Arnia border belt. The officials said he immediately informed the border outpost Chanaz, and accordingly, a bomb disposal squad was promptly rushed to the scene. Subsequently, the explosive shell was safely defused by the experts, the officials said.
