SAA event in Punjab, Jalandhar District area, India on Sat 20th June 2026

On June 20, Police arrested four members of a gang involved in extortion and firing incidents and recovered three pistols along with live cartridges from their possession in Jalandhar District of Punjab, reports The Tribune. The accused were acting on the directions of foreign-based handlers and were involved in planning and executing multiple firing incidents in Jalandhar and Nawanshahr districts. They had recently fired at BNS Fashions showroom at Santokhpura and demanded INR 5 million from its owner, Lakshay Verma. An FIR has been registered at Bhargo Camp Police Station in Jalandhar. Further investigation is underway to establish backward and forward linkages of the network and identify other associates involved in the racket.
