On June 19, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police in a joint operation arrested a suspected cross-border smuggler, identified as Rohan Khosla (22), acting on directions from an Australia-based associate via a social media application, and recovered an AK-47 assault rifle, 25 pistols of various foreign makes, 368 live cartridges, 48 magazines, and a United States of America (USA)-made bulletproof vest near the International Border (IB) in the Ajnala-Ramdas sector in Amritsar District of Punjab, reports The Tribune. A car (PB02EJ2347) used to transport the arms was also impounded. The weapons were suspected to have been drone-dropped on the intervening night of June 16-17.
