On 17 June 2026, Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces carried out mid-range drone strikes at the Russian armored personnel carrier (MT-LB) with a mounted ZU-23-2 air defense gun in the Russian-held Smolianinove, Luhansk. The extent of damage and military casualties is unknown. In a separate event, a Ukrainian drone struck and destroyed a stationary Russian re-fueling tank in Smolianinove. Casualties unknown.
