On 17 June 2026, for the second consecutive day, Egypt military launched airstrikes, artillery shelling, and a ground offensive with troops on 20 military vehicles against miners in mining sites in Wadi Al Ansari (Halaib, Red Sea) and Rad Al Jabal in Jabal Al Agidat, Jabal Al Ahmar, Jabal Al Harig, and Jabal Al Abid (coded separately). 5-50 miners were killed, and 10-80 were wounded, fatalities coded as 30 based on Darfur 24 (latest report). 30 fatalities split between 4 events across two days and coded as 7 for this event. Some reports estimated the fatalities could exceed 100. Miners were displaced from the area. SFA claimed hundreds were killed and wounded.
