On 17 June 2026, for the second consecutive day, Egypt military launched airstrikes, artillery shelling, and a ground offensive with troops on 20 military vehicles against miners in mining sites in Jabal Al Agidat, Jabal Al Ahmar, Jabal Al Harig, and Jabal Al Abid (locations coded to one of the targeted mining sites, Jabal Al Abid, Jubayt Elmaaadin, Red Sea). 5-50 miners were killed, and 10-80 were wounded, fatalities coded as 30 based on Darfur 24 (latest report). 30 fatalities split between 4 events across two days, fatalities coded as 7 for this event. Miners were displaced from the area. SFA claimed hundreds were killed and wounded. Joint Security Forces securing the area withdrew 4 hours before the attack.
