On 18 June 2026, in Chaung Sauk village (coded as Kyaikto) (Kyaikto township, Thaton district, Mon state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes and dropped two 500-lb bombs on a grocery store at around 1 pm. The DVB reported that 2 civilians and 3 members of a resistance force were injured, while Karen Information Center News reported that at least 4 civilians, including the store owner and customers, were killed and the store owner's wife sustained severe injuries. Meanwhile, Independent Mon News Agency reported that 4 individuals, including civilians and resistance force members, were killed. Fatalities coded as 4, using the most recent estimate.
