On 15 June 2026, in Aung Tha Pyay village (coded as Kyaukpyu) (Kyaukpyu township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped two bombs with a fighter jet around 10 am, which fell and exploded and destroyed some houses and a monastery. Separately, the military troops fired heavy weapons four times from naval ships from the Taung Maw Oo naval base around 8:30 pm. Some houses were also destroyed and eight cows were killed. Casualties unknown.
