On 10 July 2021, an IED by a suspected Al Shabaab militants remotely detonated, targeting a civilian who works as a mechanic engineer in Kismayo town (Kismaayo, Lower Juba). The IED was attached to the wall of his house. No fatalities and/or injuries reported.
