On 16 June 2026, the Malian army conducted two drone strikes targeting a vehicle and a fuel depot in the village of Foita (Tilemsi, Goundam, Tombouctou). The Malian army claimed to have carried out an airstrike near the village of El Serabo (seven km from Foita), destroying a vehicle carrying logistics and neutralizing (meaning killing) the militants inside (likely JNIM militants, based on location). A second airstrike in the same area on the same day struck a supply depot used as a cross-border transit point for armed militants, destroying fuel barrels and motorcycles.
