UAV event in Oman on Fri 12th June 2026

On 12 June 2026, night, Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched an unspecified projectile (coded as drone based on recent activity) that directly impacted an unspecified tanker off of the Coast of Khasab (Khasab, Musandam), around 6 nm east of Oman, setting the port bow on fire. There were no casualties. USCENTCOM said that its forces shot down multiple one-way attack drones launched by the IRGC targeting commercial ships in the strait that day (coded as a separate event). This took place amid the U.S./Israel-Iran conflict and a naval standoff and reciprocal blockade between the U.S. and Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
