On 8 June 2026, an IED suspected of being planted by a Zamfara militia detonated after a commercial vehicle drove over it along the Anga-Bagega road, specifically between Tungar Kudaku and Bagega, coded to the midpoint between the two locations, Dareta (Anka, Zamfara). The explosives killed 10 people and injured seven others. The vehicle was carrying passengers to Bagega when the incident occurred.
