Three Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Shakardara area of Kohat District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 16, reports The Khyber Chronicles. According to the CTD spokesperson, the operation was launched after receiving credible intelligence that TTP terrorists were planning a subversive activity. The terrorists had reportedly set up a checkpoint near Shakardara Road to intercept and target law enforcement personnel. The CTD’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team reached the location. Upon arrival, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the CTD personnel, prompting a retaliatory response. During the gun battle, three terrorists were killed on the spot. Three Kalashnikov rifles, nine magazines, and a significant quantity of ammunition were recovered from the deceased militants. However, several accomplices managed to flee the scene.
