On June 15, Police arrested five suspected members, identified as Arshdeep Singh, Jatinder Gupta, Yashved alias Yodha, Abhishek, and Akhil Ahmed, of a robbery and extortion gang and recovered 10 illegal firearms, including five .32-bore pistols, four .315-bore pistols, one .32-bore revolver and 20 live cartridges in Patiala District of Punjab, reported The Times of India. Police are investigating possible hawala links and the wider arms supply network. According to the police, the accused have prior criminal records, including cases related to murder, attempted murder, robbery and Arms Act violations.
