On June 15, Taliban killed three gold miners after raiding a gold mine in Khwaja Ghar District of Takhar Province, reports Hasht-e Subh. One of the victims was a resident of Dashti Qala District, while the other two were residents of Khwaja Ghar District in Takhar Province. Taliban fighters had stormed the mine under the pretext of preventing “illegal” gold extraction and opened fire on three miners who had fled out of fear of them. Bodies of two of the miners were handed over to residents in Khwaja Ghar District, while the body of the third victim was received by his family.
