On 16 July 2021, an IED went off at a rubber farm in Sako village (tambon Sako, Si Sakhon district, Narathiwat) after a local farmer stepped on its trigger, leaving him seriously injured. Authorities suspected the bomb had been planted by Malay Muslim separatists targeting the rubber farms of Buddhist residents. No fatalities reported.
