On June 12, a suspected militant ‘commander’ was killed during an operation near Kangar Bridge in the Jani Khel area of Bannu District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, reports Dawn. According to the Police Peace Committee (PPC), the deceased, identified as Shahid, was a close associate and facilitator of militant commander Akhtar Muhammad. He was alleged to have been involved in several terrorist activities in the region.
