IED event in Mizoram, Aizawl District area, India on Wed 10th June 2026

On June 10, Security Forces (SFs) arrested one person and recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) during a joint operation conducted by the Assam Rifles and Aizawl Police in the Seling area of Aizawl District, Mizoram, reports India TodayNE on June 15. The operation was carried out as part of a coordinated Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) exercise aimed at preventing the movement of illegal and hazardous materials. The arrested individual was identified as Yening Ku, who was allegedly transporting the IED. In addition to the explosive device, SFs recovered an antenna component and articles of clothing suspected to be associated with an underground cadre uniform. The accused, along with the recovered materials, was handed over to Aizawl Police for further investigation. Authorities are probing the source, intended use and possible militant links of the recovered explosive device.
