A joint operation carried out by elements of the Mexican Army and the National Guard in the municipality of Navolato , Sinaloa , culminated in the arrest of four hitmen and the seizure of an arsenal, tactical equipment, and urban surveillance devices. The operation was confirmed by the Federal Security Cabinet on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in its daily technical report on crime rates in the country.

The federal forces' intervention was strategically carried out in the aforementioned coastal municipality, resulting in the neutralization of the four suspects without any armed confrontations or direct attacks against military personnel. At the time of their apprehension, the suspects were in possession of two compact vehicles in which they were transporting weapons, tactical gear, and other contraband.

The breakdown of the arsenal and communications and intelligence equipment seized at the scene includes:

Six large-caliber long firearms.
46 magazines and 1,380 usable cartridges of various calibers.
Eight video surveillance cameras allegedly used to monitor police deployments.
10 tactical vests with compartments for ballistic plates.
An unspecified quantity of metal artifacts known as tire spikes.
Various doses of substances with the characteristics of narcotics.

The four detainees, along with the weapons, technological components, vehicles, and seized drugs, were transferred under strict security measures and placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor at the Attorney General's Office (FGR). This judicial body will be responsible for initiating the corresponding investigation for organized crime and possession of weapons restricted to the military.

Given these results, the Security Cabinet urged the people of Sinaloa to actively collaborate by using the citizen service lines responsibly and promptly, reminding them that the 9-1-1 line is available for priority emergencies, while the 0-8-9 number operates under a strict anonymity scheme for reporting criminal activity in communities.
