According to unofficial reports, the military intervention was concentrated in the vicinity of the town of Práxedis Guerrero . This same town was the scene of an intense armed confrontation between gunmen from the Los Cabrera cartel and members of the National Guard just last June 3, which prompted increased patrols and intelligence operations in the region.
