Violence persists in Tulum, the municipality governed by Diego Castañón. In the last few hours, an armed attack was reported against two people, a man and a woman. The incident occurred at a hotel called Zulum.

According to reports, an armed group entered the aforementioned complex, located in the hotel zone of Tulum , at kilometer 7.5, injuring two people whose identity is currently unknown.

Some reports claimed that staff at this complex had already received threats, although no details were given about the type of threats or who was behind them.

After the 911 emergency number was notified, members of the Tulum Municipal Police , as well as paramedics from a private company, went to the Punta Piedra area, on the road to Boca Paila.

At the scene, authorities confirmed that two people were injured: a man who works as a security guard at the hotel, and a woman, believed to be his wife. They were initially taken to an IMSS Bienestar hospital, but were later transferred to the private Costamed clinic.

After the armed attack against the Zulum hotel was confirmed, the authorities of Tulum cordoned off the area while agents from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Quintana Roo (FGE) arrived at this point , who began the investigations into this armed attack.

It's worth noting that this area of ​​Punta Piedra has a unique characteristic: several plots of land have been in dispute for years. One such case is Zulum, whose owners have allegedly received threats.

The owner even reported some time ago that police in Tulum detained him for alleged administrative offenses, and that people from the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE) had "asked" him to leave the premises. He even went so far as to request help from the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum .

The case is generating uncertainty among the inhabitants of Tulum and visitors, who know that violent incidents are becoming increasingly common in the ninth municipality of Quintana Roo , which is governed by Diego Castañón Trejo .
