A joint operation between the Sinaloa Special Operations Group ( GOES ) and the National Guard resulted in the release of a kidnapping victim and the arrest of three suspected hitmen . The public security actions took place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in the Los Ángeles neighborhood of Culiacán, Sinaloa .

The operation began when law enforcement officers were conducting preventative patrols in the area and noticed a motorcyclist making evasive and erratic maneuvers upon seeing the approaching patrol cars. Due to his suspicious behavior, the officers initiated a perimeter search of the area to locate him.

During the tactical search, security personnel detected two heavily armed men attempting to escape by moving across the rooftops of nearby houses. Federal and state agents immediately expanded the operational perimeter to pursue them and cut off their escape routes.

As they approached the building from which the suspects had fled, the officers heard cries for help coming from inside. Upon entering to secure the perimeter, they located a third armed civilian guarding the site and rescued a person who was being held captive.

As a result of timely institutional intervention, ministerial authorities reported the seizure of the following military, logistical, and automotive equipment:

2 AK-47 rifles caliber 7.62 x 39 mm.
1 5.56 mm caliber AR-15 rifle.
14 magazines caliber 7.62 x 39 mm.
7 magazines caliber 5.56 mm.
420 cartuchos calibre 7.62 x 39 mm.
210 cartridges caliber 5.56 mm.
3 tactical vests with two ballistic plates.
91 ponchallantas.
1 Kia Rio brand vehicle, with a recent theft report.

The freed victim received initial medical attention and specialized support from law enforcement agencies to ensure her physical and psychological well-being. She was then referred to the appropriate authorities for guidance in the investigation. Meanwhile, the three detainees, the weapons, tactical equipment, and the seized vehicle were turned over to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office for the initiation of the corresponding investigation.

Following the successful operation, the State Public Security Secretariat urged citizens to use the emergency lines responsibly and promptly, using 911 to report real-time emergencies and 089 for completely anonymous reports. Authorities also reiterated the importance of avoiding false calls, as these divert resources that could save lives in real emergencies.
