🚨 MYSTERY DEVICE SPARKS POLICE RESPONSE IN BAYVIEW! 🚔🌿

😲 An unexplained electronic device discovered beside a walking trail in the Bayview Conservation Area triggered a police assessment this morning.

🎖️ Redland City Councillor Cr Paul Golle, a military veteran who served in Iraq, spotted the concealed device while carrying out a routine inspection of tracks, trails and environmental conditions in the reserve.

⚠️ Concerned the item could potentially be an improvised explosive device (IED), Cr Golle immediately alerted Council officers and Queensland Police.

👮 Officers from Redland Bay Police Station attended the scene and conducted an assessment of the device.

✅ The verdict? No danger to the public.

🔍 Police determined the item was a digital laser device commonly used in military-style battlefield simulation activities.

👏 Cr Golle praised local police for their swift response and professionalism.

💬 “While this device was ultimately harmless, people should never assume that an unidentified electronic item or unattended package presents no risk,” Cr Golle said.

🚨 “If something looks unusual or out of place, report it and let trained authorities assess the situation.”

🙏 Cr Golle also thanked attending officers for helping ensure the safety of visitors to the popular conservation area.

✔️ The device was cleared by police, recovered for return to its owner, and the matter was resolved without incident.

🌳 Community reminder: If you spot a suspicious or unattended item in a public place, report it to authorities and stay clear until it can be assessed.
